San Antonio Demographics

According to the 2010 United States Census, the population of San Antonio was 1,327,407 people split between 405,474 households and 280,993 families. The population density was about 2,808.5 people per square miles.

The age distribution of San Antonio in 2010 was as follows: 28.5% were under the age of 18 years old, 10.8% were between 18 and 24, 30.8% were between 25 and 44, 19.4% were between 45 and 64, and 10.4% were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years old.

As of the 2010 United States Census, the racial makeup of San Antonio was as follows: 72.6% white residents (26.6% of whom identified as non-Hispanic white), 6.9% black residents, 2.4% Asian residents, .9% Native American residents, and .1% Pacific Islander residents. 13.7% identified as an “other” race and 3.4% of residents identified as two or more races.
