Man stops intruders with gun at Northeast Side home, police say

One suspect is in custody and San Antonio police are still looking for three other people after a home invasion on the city’s Northeast Side.

Officers at the scene told KSAT 12 that they received a call from a man around 12:30 a.m Wednesday and found him holding one suspect at gunpoint when they arrived.

Police said the man told them that the suspect was among four people who had barged into his garage behind a home in the 4300 block of Moana Drive. The garage appeared to have been converted into a living space.

The man said he heard his dogs barking then noticed the four people standing near the garage. He said within a few minutes, they made their way inside the garage.

Police said that’s when the man grabbed a gun, chasing away three of the suspects.

He told them he physically fought with the fourth suspect before subduing him and holding him at gunpoint.

Police said the intruders did not take anything from the garage and that they are still looking for the three who ran away.
